Australia Quilts – exceptional quilts from the great southern land

Australia QuiltsIn September 2014, Carrefour Européen du Patchwork/European Patchwork Meeting celebrated its 20th anniversary in Alsace, France. Australia is guest country of honour from outside Europe and I curated a special invitational exhibit of 34 “exceptional quilts from the great Southern land” ranging from traditional quilts to contemporary textile art.

I acknowledge that I live and create on the land of the Darkinjung and Guringai people and recognise their continuing connection to this place. I pay my respects to Elders past, present and emerging and extend that respect to all First Nations people.

It was generally rainy and overcast. Not great for the walk to the ruins 4km outside of town but there were no crowds and the mosaics were washed down.
